OverviewMagnotherapy is the application of a magnetic field to a living body. Magnotherapy is not new, it has been used for hundreds of years to help relieve pain and accelerate the natural healing process. In recent times magnotherapy has become more popular for two reasons, first the quest for complementary remedies as a natural therapy, and secondly the advancement of magnet technology. HistoryMagnets or rather loadstones go back some 5000 years. It is reported that the ancient Chinese used loadstones around 3000 BC. Others say that a boy named Magnes had his iron staff pulled towards a rock whilst tending his sheep where it was held and resisted his efforts to free it; this rock became known as “The Magnes Stone”. Legend has it that Egyptian Queen Cleopatra used to wear a loadstone on her forehead during sleep to prevent aging. The Chinese, Egyptians, Hindus, Hebrews, Greeks have all been linked with magnets at some time. Somewhere in this tangled web lies the truth. In the 1930s Albert Roy Davis showed the different effects that North and South Pole magnetic fields have on the biological system. Davis found that magnets had an effect on the treatment of many diseases and conditions including arthritis, cancer, pain etc. Davis also found that the North and South Poles of a magnet differ in their energies. The North Pole causes electrons to spin in a counter-clockwise direction, whilst the South Pole causes the electrons to spin in a clockwise direction. BenefitsFollowing are some of the benefits observed:
ProcedureAll Magnotherapy wristbands are worn on the inside of the wrist where the large blood vessels are near the surface. The unique reverse polarity magnet modules mimic the expensive equipment used by professional therapists, they are all made with non-allergenic materials. All of the products carry a lifetime warranty on their magnetic properties. Source of information: www.internethealthlibrary.com/Therapies/Magnotherapy.htm |
