Overview

The best prevention is to give the body what it needs to stay in shape and the best treatment is to have a body that's free to heal itself. It isn't enough to work on symptoms - we need to work with the person who has the symptoms.

Touch For Health takes a "whole person" point of view. It gives you knowledge of what to do to discover the best kind of foods and supplements for your needs, the best kind of exercise for your individual structure - and how you can relieve the physical tensions that come from tension in the mind and emotions.

Touch For Health is a system of muscle testing and balancing that uses principles of Chinese medicine, massage, energy work and postural alignment to enhance strength, improve energy and release physical and mental stress and pain.

History

The first man to use the spinous and transverse processes of the vertebrae themselves as levers to correct the posture and readjust the spine was D D Palmer. He was a magnetic healer who rediscovered the science of chiropractic.

Dr's Bennett and De Jarnette were pioneers in working with reflexes as used today. In the 1960's, George Goodheart came up with a new idea for working with muscles. Building on ancient Oriental practices, techniques were developed by using muscle testing to determine the need for and effectiveness of treatment. From this John Thie started Touch For Health, spreading a guide to natural health and offering an alternative to drugs and surgery.

"The body is intricately simple and simply intricate. If you produce the right measure for the right condition, you get the right response." George Goodheart

Benefits

Touch For Health:

  • Restores muscle balance which is essential to good posture and health
  • Restores energy flows to the systems

The method treats the body as a whole - people who have had arthritis, disc problems, headaches and many other problems have received great benefits and improved vitality.

Procedure

To find out if there are problems, muscles are tested to see if they have a weakness and require treatment. Most of the tests can be done with the person fully dressed and lying down on a massage table. Most practitioners using the Touch for Health System can check and balance muscles for all 26 meridians* in less than 20 minutes.

The changes that the client feels immediately after a Touch for Health System energy balance are truly amazing. Inhibited muscles become relaxed when the inhibited muscles are restored to function, allowing tight, painful muscles to release.

*Meridians are acupressure vessels located throughout the body containing a free-flowing, colourless, non-cellular liquid which may be partly actuated by the heart. They are the channels along which chi, the primary or universal energy which is the origin of all things and of life itself, flows in the body.
