The pharmaceutical industry is doing all it can to kill as many placebo effect experiments because otherwise this industry would be in deep trouble. There are simply too many valid studies that have shown that the plethora of engineered chemical cocktails don't fare any better than do salt pills or sugar water- or even "fake surgeries".But what does that have to do with 2012? Lots! It's a matter of BELIEF and more importantly a building to a tipping point of a collective belief that can literally change our world- maybe even save our world. However, let's back up and look at one individual study that makes the point. The near ten billion dollar antidepressant industry worries that reports such as that by Professor Irvin Kirsch (The Emperor's New Drugs) that showed that 80% of the effect of antidepressants could be attributable to the "placebo effect". At worst, a study by the United States Department of Health and Human Services found that 50% of the severely depressed patients taking drugs while 32% did with just a placebo. The placebo cost nothing and had no side effects. Obviously the drug barons couldn't match that record. More specifically Janis Schonfeld who had been involved in a double blind experiment with the drug Effexor (1997) was stunned to find out that her depression which had left her had been accomplished by taking sugar pills only. In fact she was so sure that it was the drug that healed her (BELIEF) that she demanded that they double check her rcords because she knew she had taken the drug. And here's what the pharma industry was quick to take note of and proclaim. The more stories were told about how great the drug was the more people begane to believe the propoganda and the better the results: not because of the drug itself, but because of the "belief in the drug". The more we come to believe in who we are, not who we think we are, the better chances we have in surviving whatever might come our way between now and 2012 - and there are a whole lot of things coming!
